The highly prestigious and internationally reputed institution Kendriya
Vidyalaya Dharmapuri, which comes under the Ministry of Human Resources
Development-Govt of India, was first established in the Dharmapuri district on 6th
September in the year 2007 with the immense support and assistance of The Tamil
Nadu State Government. The Vidyalaya building is an imposing structure that is
designed to accommodate double sections from classes I to XII. It is Located 11
kms from the town in the most serene and sylvan surroundings of Pallakolai
Village with lush green fields and a backdrop of high mountains.
The student strength of our Vidyalaya is more than 600 till date.
The teaching faculty consists of highly qualified and well experienced teachers
hailing from the length and breadth of the country. In the primary classes
special emphasis is given to activity method of teaching to make the classroom
learning a pleasurable experience for the children. As per the NCF 2005
recommendations the common minimum programme has been earnestly adopted in the
primary where learning by doing is emphasized. In all the classes certain
periods have been allotted for computer-aided and technology aided teaching.
Students are motivated to do diverse projects and assignments as suggested by
the CBSE Formative Assessment tools for a holistic and comprehensive evaluation
and equip them for the future.
The KV provides numerous opportunities to its students to participate in
a variety of activities. The Vidyalaya participates in Games, Sports, Scouts and
Guides and other activities organized locally and also at Inter KV level by the
KVS. Many students have represented the Vidyalaya and have won laurels in the
Regional level, National level and at SGFI. Co-curricular
activities are organized periodically House-Wise by dividing the students into
four Houses namely Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka & Raman.
Our Vidyalaya Management Committee Chairman & Dist. Collector of Dharmapuri Shri K.Vivekanandan.,IAS has taken keen interest in the progress and development of the Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya also cherishes a laudable and active Parent – Teacher association
